The more we try to suppress an idea, the more space it takes up in our minds. This is what scientists call the rebound effect. This mechanism is thought to be the cause of disorders such as phobias, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder, among others.

When we find it hard to suppress our anxious ruminations, it may be useful to stop fighting them and give them our full attention.

This session should be done at home, preferably in a quiet place where you can reflect. However, we strongly advise against doing it in your bedroom to make sure you dissociate all these thoughts from sleep.
